A Small Compliment, A Big Change

Divya was a quiet student who often doubted herself. Although she studied hard, she rarely answered questions in class because she was afraid of making mistakes.

One day, her teacher noticed her work and said, “Divya, I can see that you have really tried. Your ideas are improving.”

Those simple words stayed in Divya’s mind.

For the first time, she began to believe that she could improve. She started participating in class, asking questions, and practising her lessons with greater confidence.

A few weeks later, Divya received a very good mark in her test. She smiled proudly—not only because of the mark, but because she had discovered something important:

“I can improve if I keep trying.”

Her teacher’s small compliment had not magically changed her ability. It had changed the way Divya thought about herself.

🧠 Psychology Behind the Story

Positive feedback can influence self-confidence, motivation, and willingness to continue trying. A sincere compliment can sometimes become the small spark that encourages someone to believe in their own potential.

A few encouraging words can create a big change in someone's mind.
